Coventina

Coventina is a Goddess of fresh water springs. She is the genius locii of the Carrawburgh site that holds the three recovered Mithraeum on Hadrian's Wall. We honour her.

The protection of fresh water springs is a traditional Mithraic interest. We view the link to Coventina to be particularly relevant in the modern era and is one reason we are so concerned with issues around contamination of the water table.

Note on illustration. This shows the Goddess between two of her waterfalls, specifically Harthope Lin and  Roughting Lin. These are actual locations in Northumbria. This is a votive piece and should not be reproduced without permission.
