Types of past-life memory
The work of the recovery of the self is often experienced by a sense, perhaps a vague sense of familiarity. So someone feels strongly they have been to a place they know they have never visited. These kinds of visual image and spiritual link are not the only ways you can retain elements of the self from life to life. For example there are people who retain muscle memory, they have talents for practical skills from a previous age. For example people who have never ridden a horse in this life who can haul into the saddle and ride like they’re born to it. There are even people who can pick up a sword or a bow and be far better with them than anyone might expect. Some skills can survive but obviously you may never have the opportunity to find them. If you were a German mercenary in the 100 years War and now you are an American accountant in Milwaukee then your talents may be undiscovered.
